sounds like crap packing by any standard.0

Well is it a mountain bike or a road bike?
And where abouts is it scratched?
Is it even visible?
Could you just repaint it?
A picture would answer these...0 -
Its a MTB, on top of the top tube, its very visible. Oh and I wasn't provided with any touchup paint.
Is that ok RealMan, is it ok with you if I send it back?0 -
None of that makes any difference whatsoever. It's been damaged in transit and it's not how it left the factory. You are buying goods in a pristine state, not damaged.0

My point exactly, which is why I dont get what he's harping on about.
Just trying to vent a bit of steam!0 -
I think realman was hinting at the fact your post assumes that we all know the details precedeing your post. I.e. Have you bought a new bike?? You appear to have started mid- sentence0
-
Think he was just saying that you may have been able to live with the scratch as it may get scratched in use
If it was me I would maybe give em a call and see if they would offer any sort of discount and maybe try and touch it upSpecialized Camber Expert

Ahh I figured it was fairly self explanitory.... bought a bike frame and it has a scratch on it, so its gong back.
Just a bit peeeeeeed off hense the short post lol!0 -
Well partly that (it also wasnt even that clear that it was the frame that had been scratched, not the fork, except for the fact that carbon isnt a metal), but mostly because I would probably just live with "a small nick" rather then go to all the trouble of sending stuff back, complaining, waiting for a replacement, etc. etc.
Wondered if you were just over reacting.0 -
why has this guy put a put a pointless post up if he doesn't want any input ?' From the sharks in the penthouse,
to the rats in the basement,
its not that far '0 -
Hardly pointless, i was interested actually having been through similar retail woes last week. More to the point why have you responded to a post you obviously have no interest in. lol.0

Nah sorry, just extreeeeeemly peeeved.
Been looking forward to opening this up for a while and to find it scratched is very annoying.
Its not the sort of scratch you could get from riding, definately shows something has hit the frame and taken the paint off, and with it being in such a visible position, there's no way i'm accepting it!0 -
as you say its on the top tube and you will be looking at it all the time, Know how you feel waiting for something and it has to go back look on the bright side it will be back with you soon and all pristineSpecialized Camber Expert

Out of curiosity, what fork..?

Dude its is the responsilbilty of the place got frame from up and until u accept the parcel and signed for it but as the damage was done in transit then YES send it back and get a replacement or refund mate after costs money. Owuld u accept something thats was damaged UNLESS it was second hand fine but not new and like said depends on price. Also if its taken a nick out of frame dont it make it slightly weaker and carbon relies on the thread / weave fot its strength, oh please correct me if im wrong.
Simples take it back ur in ur rights too same as food if its not right you take it back, unless your homer simpsons and eat the contents and then hand in the empty packet, sorry had to put that in to cheer you upI don't have a bike addiction problem.....bikes seems to have a problem with me.....it just can't seem to stay on.

It's an On-One 29'er, and On-One 29 carbon fork. It took me little effort to work this out, poor blokes been pining after it for ages, i'd be interested to know how they are going to deal with this Benj, keep us posted fella!0

Hmmm....
Big_Benj - I'm sure that you have, in the past commented on how it's a little bit gay that folks send MTB's back, save for a little scratch on the frame (providing there is no structural damage!!).
It's only gonna get mashed up 1,000 times worse when you (inevetably) throw it down some rocky / gravel-y track, when you carry a bit too much speed...

Fix it 'till it's broke0 -
I'd be sending it back as well, riding damage that you caused is different to a frame coming new with a scratch. Would anyone here buy a new car and not be pissed if it was scratched in the showroom before you got hold of it? And would you not be asking for a different car? I would.0

Aye... been in contact with on-one, frame goes back tomorrow and hopefully i'll have another by the end of the week
Must admit, on-one's customer service and email response has been superb so far.... I even got a reply on a sunday!!
Just can't wait to get it together... it is one of the sexiest frames i've seen thats for sure!0
