and I see this little beauty:
Does anyone think it's worth £1500? If it is, I may well buy it.

No. Give it a miss. They're too heavy and have a wandering eye if not satisfied.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0

But if you keep her satisfied, think of the hours of pleasure...................0

Funny thing was - it felt a bit long on the top tube, the 5mm shorter Madone 4.5 felt betterChunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

focus Cayo is miles better, and cheaper.
I have one and it's ace.0 -
The thing is: I'm looking more for the Sportive / day out road bike - the cayo is a bit race oriented for meChunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

It's really not that hardcore, I commute on mine when the weather's good. It's similarly comfortable to my steel audax bike that does most of the commuting.
I rode it on the C+ sportive this year, was great.
Oh,and I've never raced in my life. Can't recommend it enough.0 -
Have you seen the Specialized Secteur range?

NOTE This is a suggestion not a recommendation. I've no idea what I'm talking about.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

Not sure that Kuota will make for the best Sportive bike - DDD has one and apparently it's very very stiff and a tad unforgiving. Worth looking at the Wilier Mortirolo, ver suited for Sportives and has a buttery smooth ride. I owned one for a bit and was sad to see it go.

Yeah - I felt that when I was trying it out.
Of course all this has done is blow my idea of getting a bike on the CTW scheme out the window.
The Madon 4.5 felt VERY nice though!
(Oh and I did manage to pick up a £200 light set for £150 while I was there!)Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

The Madone is great for sportives, I've done several 120 miler's on mine and it's been bloody fantastic. I'd steer clear of the pro fit though, the lower front end is too agressive for the occasional sportive rider, Ilove it for racing, but your back might not after 100 plus miles. The ride is slightly softer than many carbon bikes, but out and out stiffness isn't everything. The carbon frame on the Madone does as remarkable job of damping small bumps etc making for a very comfortable ride over long distances.
Oh and it also dances up the hills with remarkable ease, and accelerates like a rocket when it needs to
Then again I am slightly biasedpain is temporary, the glory of beating your mates to the top of the hill lasts forever.....................
