Crap British summer

This summer's weather has been a total bummer. Just 2 weeks around Wimbledon that was hot and fine. Really really crap. Today it's grey overcast and blowing a gale. The feckin wind has just blown my tomato plants clean over meaning I've lost a few branches laden with promising jewels that have snapped. Mind you the toms are still as green as a green jersey and are as hard as golf balls so probably no chance of them ripening before autumn. I had them staked up as well. A total waste of £20. I hate the crap British weather.

Last year and the year before were both crap as well.

Was going to go out for a ride later but battling gales doesn't appeal. I hope the weather improves for tomorrow's club ride.

What with broken Britain the time is nigh to emigrate to a better climate and quality of life.

Hmm.... it's been amazing in Manchester! :D

Only 1 week of solid rain this year - and I wasn't around for it!

Manchester's summer usually consists of half an hour of 22 degrees some time in May; the rest of the months being a biblical 24/7 downpour.
  • It'ds been gorgeous here in Chester for this last week. Granted before that was quite hit and miss, but I think this summer hasn't been such bad value for money.

It's just that these last three years we've been comparing it to the heatwave of '06, which was a once in a blue moon thing. I judge a summer on the number of days you could have a barbequeue, and this year I'd say there's been plenty (nice days not BBQs!)

oh yeah, it's raining and blowing a bit here, but I still go out in it - makes you appreciate a nice sunny day even more :D

Blowing a gale in Mcr, chucked it down at lunch, so left the road bikes, and jumped on the MTB.

Covered in mud, even had a mud suntan on the legs......stopped at the socks and shorts...

Just been raining a bit in Manchester.

There was a tailwind too, so the cloud was following me. :|

On behalf of the East Anglian Tourist Board I'd just like to say the weather's been great here this summer(and there're very few hills!)
