No idea of price, but the componentry is a step up from the last model.

I don't think they have released any yet - as far as I know that is only the second pic of this bike on the whole web!

Looks nice. I had a Tyax Elite 07...Mongoose seem to be good quality all round. Sold it to my mate last month for £100(had my pants down). Solid bikes.

Prices on Mongooses are usually pretty good though. It'll be interesting to see how they're going to handle this economic "crisis".

    Here is the new Elite:

£450. Seems a big rise, but is basically specedd like last years Super. So rebound adjustable forks, hydro discs and 8 speed put it well above most others on value. Will be quite heavy though, but meant to be ridden harder than an XC bike.

The Super gets a Tora Uturn fork, hydros and 27 speed SRAM for £600!
  • I have been waiting for the 2010 super to come out as l couldn't seem to get hold of a 2009 from shops supporting my cycleto work scheme. The £200 price jump was quite a shock!

As you said though, the 2010 elite looks like the 2009 super so I will be going for that at £450 I think.

Other bikes I was considering are:-

    2010 gt avalanche 2.0 - £550
    scott aspect 45 - £530

Any reason why I would want to go for either of these over the mongoose?

Bike will be used 50:50 road/xc
I am 5'10 and 17 stone so it's likely to be under a bit of stress
  • I've still got my '06 super. Really solid bike, I was riding any/everywhere when I was 18+ stone. Now it's my winter bike, and lend to mates bike.

I have had my tyax comp 08 for about a year and i ride it every day to school and trails quite often and its held up well. Well for a £230 bike it has, nothing has even broken on it. I like the look of the new super, might have to have a look at buying.

Am i the only one on here with a mongoose and gets mocked by your mates for it being a bmx?

  • My 08 when it was out and about good solid bike for the money
