New road bike

Morning everyone, just joined as i need some advice and when i phone the shops i seem to get fobbed off.
I'm looking for a new road bike for myself, i will be using it for travelling to work and generally keeping fit.
The 2 bikes i have seen / like are the Specialized Allez Elite and the Bianchi Mirage (both will be the 2010 models when they are released).
Any advice or other bikes to take note of. I have about £1000 to play with.

the allez is the budget version of the tarmac ( racing geometry )
Better to go for the secteur, which is the cheaper version of the roubaix ( more relaxed geometry ) and more suited for commuting and general riding0
