My lovely Karpiel Apocalypse. Only got the one pic of it at the moment but it gives you a pretty good idea of the spec.

    looks fun.

but a bit odd with the fork and the very high and short bar/stem combo.

yeh the stem combo does look a bit odd, but i always ride with short stems and i recently switched to dorados from monster t which dropped the front end quite a bit so i slapped the higher bars on mostly for comfort, rides like a dream :)

i would look at some 888 and lower bars

but there are 2 big forks that one should own at some time or another. Monsters and Dorados.

    well done on both counts.

haha thanks, i had some super monsters too at one point very briefly, but as awesome as they looked they weighed an absolute ton and completely destroyed the geometry. i have a set of risse hamps lying around somewhere too that i keep meaning to sell. i like the way it rides now, just wanna ge some 26" wheels on there and shed a few extra pounds 'cause she's a weighty beast

    SMTS 7kg of lurve.

I have some on an 8KG frame, if you look through this part of the forum you will see the Tank!
26" handle and roll soooo much better.

yeh that's why i'm swtiching to 26", the 24s combined with huuuge tyres just slow me down far too much and suck the energy out of me! the tank looks awesome! i'm guessing it weighs in excess of 50lbs?

my karpiel was well over 50 when it had super monsters on it, was kinda fun and pretty cool to look at but was just too difficult to ride

thats the mad thing about the tank. with 200mm on the front it was a bit too sharp. well it does have 250mm on the rear. Ideally it needs a 250mm fork but it does ride well (DH only) would not like to pedal it up hill.

You know Jan is making new Karpiels back in Poland. after Duncon bought them?

Yeh it has twin rear shocks. With the air shock on the rear the forks make the suspension feel perfectly balanced. Yeh I've been keping up to date with Karpiel's progress, just wondering when they're finally gonna reveal the X1 prototype!!
