Norhtampton XC routes?
Hi all,
I live in Northampton. I was wondering if anyone know of any good XC routes in and around this area. I know about Woburn, and I am hoping to give this a go this weekend. I have been to Irchester a few times already.
Anywhere else you can recommend for 3-4 hours of fun.
Cheers

If your looking for XC Harlestone Firs is worth a blast. Usually a few riders over there and everybody seems friendly.Eagles may fly high but Weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.

There is Salcey Forest which isnt too far and Thetford is good for a blast if you are prepared to travel for a bit. Aston Hill also has an XC route. More info in the link in my sig.My Website - Trail Centre info for the UK: MTB Trail Time0

got out on my new Cube Ltd Race last night around Harlestone Firs. Had a great time. I really didn't expect much from Harlestone, but i was proved wrong.
Cheers Mr Bump for the tip.0 -
Hi - if you want pointing the direction of routes in the Northampton area - including hidden bits of Harlestone 8) - come along to Delapre Golf course car park ayt 8:30 on a Sunday morning. Treads do a ride out from there - could go anywhere depending on weather, who turns up etc - but I'm sure you'll find trails you never knew existed! Friendly bunch too and no wories about being the slowest either - that's my job!!
Most of the trails in Harlestone etc have been found, laid out, improved by some of the Treads guys so if you want to get to know the best bits they're the guys to tag along with.
Website linky is on my sig - first few rides are try-outs anyway so you don't need to join to come along.
Cheers

Forgot to mention that there's a cracking ride organised on behalf of the Hackleton WI (don't laugh) - it's a 30 mile route out through Salcey Forest and following bridleways down to the outskirts of MK and back again. A good circuit that builds up an appetite for the buffet that the said WI then provide you with - not forgetting the two flapjack stops en route too
The event is the "Roman Challenge" and it's on 11th October - well worth setting aside the morning for. Food alone is worth a tenner of anyone's money :!:
Cheers

Hi - anyone can come along as long as you've got a helmet on.(And a bike ) I think if you're under 16 you need a letter from Parent/guardian too - details would be on the website.

Hey there P.,
This "Roman Challenge" of yours sounds really interesting.
Where can I find more details?
Thanks in advance.
