In my continued search for a frame for my 1st project, I found this

bike1.jpg

rang the guy at 12.25pm today, viewed and rode the bike at 12.50pm and paid £200 for it at 1pm.

It's 1.5 years old, get only a few stone chips and a few minor scratches on the chainstay, and that's it. What a bargin.!!!!

Model = Giant XTC SE

    I think what am gonna do is take it for a 30mile ride over light ground (tarmac and compact flat mud) and see how it goes. It's gonna be used as a work horse bike for work, so will get used to it then proably get fussy and change, bars & forks but that's not for a while. It's a bargin though, its light as fook also.

    I knew you'd see something ;) nah only joking.. total deal, can't knock it. I know what you mean about the forks, which will be changed maybe at xmas time...

    Dear Santa

    Please send some Fox Air forks

    Thanks
  • Nice bike, good buy.

    You can always spot a bike that's had a quiet life when they still have the wheel reflectors on!

    Picked up my STP at the weekend, must be at least 2 years old and bar a couple of light scratches on the top tube it looks like it's just come from the shop.
    Less internal organs, same supertwisted great taste.

    Hey Supersonic

    Any idea on how to imporve the forks? am 14st and they are a little spongy to say the least... other than forking out (pardon the pun) for new ones (Toras maybe), can this be done for under £40? or is it just not worth it?

    thanks for advice

    Nowt you can do - the MZ Race and MZ Comp have no damping at all, just a steel coil spring.
