Right i have had my Cinder Cone 09 for about 3 months and im thinking of moving up to something like the above.
I have only seen it sold on one website and it is £1099 ! I dont think the Pro 2009 model is that expensive ..
Just wondering would the above be a nice upgrade .. i.e smoothness in gears and general weight and handling of the bike.
I dont want SPDs so i guess ill change the pedals straight away, something like Wellgos etc etc.
Are the tyres on the Spesh that bad only 2.0s , worth replacing straight away i.e with Maxxis Ignitors ..
Cheers for any advice

The 2009 Pro can be had for under £900 now and is basically an unchanged spec on the 2010 model. The colour is different but the 2009 looks far better in the flesh than it does in the brochure.
Weight is about 25lbs.0 -
It is better equipped than the Cinder Cone - have you thought about new forks and wheels for the Kona? And some new finishing kit?
£600 quid will get you SID Race, XT wheelset and a carbon seatpost.0 -

I could do that , but i dont want the hassle of taking the bike to a LBS and doing it up etc etc.
£600 + the amount id get for my Cindy = Rockhopper SL Pro anyways ...Kona Cinder Cone 20090 -

The 2010 Pro is all Black i think and it looks dead nice pics wise on the internet.
Hpoefully my LBS will get one in soon as they do a lot with Specialized and Genesis anywaysKona Cinder Cone 20090 -
they have the new 2010 pro in my LBS, saw it today and its a kind of grey'ish colour - not sure what other finshes they do.
the guy in the shop claimed it was slightly lighter than the 2009 model, but not much at all and largely the bike seemed to be the same spec as 2009
i had the 2009 pro before it got stolen and can heartily recommend the bike, they can be had for around £900 which is a decent amount cheaper than the 2010 model for essentially the same machine.
agree with the comments above - the bike (2009 pro) is lovely in the flesh0 -
The Rockhopper Expert 2010 is silver/grey.
The Pro 2010 is in black. From the specs I've seen the brakes are different. The frame looks slightly different aswell, but I could be wrong.
The LBS where I ordered mine from says it's 200g lighter. Should have mine next Wednesday all going well.
