So, cycling to work about 20 mins ago, crossing a junction that I could see the street/cycle path on the far side was cordoned off by the police. Wheeled up and asked the two very foxy police women what the deal was. "Sorry sir. Security alert. You'd be better going along Montgomery Street". I responded (jokingly) that that'd mean me going the wrong way up a one-way street?

One of them winked and said "Don't worry sir. We'll not look"

Sometimes I love this place.

  • Was upper Arthur street closed off?

(Wonders if foxy police women are still there)

years back when bomb scares were a 'regular' occurence I was in Belfast on business (at the British Midland Sales Office) and we got evacuated due to a phoned in scare (code words and everything)

    1. I could not believe how fast the buskers got to each end of the blocked off road!
    2. The efficiency of the services was astonishing.
    3. Stunningly attractive Irish women in uniform with a fecking big gun are probably the most sexually exciting thing I am ever going to see in my life. My God she was gorgeous (and very friendly!)

    Oh yeah and...
    4. Standing less than 10' from a army bomb disposal guy and his dog looking for real explosives is a memory I really wish I didn't have.

These two this morning were, in the local parlance, "crackers". Especially the blonde with the tight ponytail (who for some reason I noticed had her tongue peirced). Which I oddly like.

    Sigh.

Probably long gone now as I've since found it wasn't a security alert afterall, but just some poor guy got his head kicked in in the wee hours.

Dammit, I must have gone past the wrong end of Upper Arthur Street, as there was only an extremely tall police MAN standing guard, who I didn't find at all attractive. I did see two SOCO prowling about the street in the all-over plastic nappies though, which was interesting.
Today is a good day to ride

This must be a devious new PSNI policy. The RUC would never have employed attractive female officers!
