Bottom Bracket

Hi
Had cause to take the bottom bracket off my Carrera road bike yesterday, due to it needing replacing.
It is a Truativ powerspline model, internal cups, 68 x 108 mm Octalink. The first thing i noted on the body of the bracket when taken out was the sticker stating it was for mountain biking only ?? Whats it doing in my bike ? it came with truativ touro cranks.
Secondly if i wanted to put in a slightly better more durable/smooth bracket could anyone suggest a suitable upgrade replacement, i had a look on chain reaction, to be honest i was a bit confused with the various different types of bracket, internal, external ISIS etc so was not sure what could fit my bike
any help would be great !
thanks
Neil

Truvativ are usually ISIS not octalink
see this to check (scroll right to see the isis)
If it is ISIS then SKF do some good ones, but pricey. The FSA platinums are reasonably okay. The Mtb ones are heavier but possibly more durable (don't quote me on that though) and tend to come in 113mm wide. The roadie ones are usually 108mm.
Generally speaking ISIS has a bad rep, and rightfully so. The SKF ones are the only BBs that don't get criticised regularly.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0
