Ok peeps

Can we have a roll call, who's still up for this on the 5th/6th September, leaving from somewhere around the Richmond area. I'm trying to get the Bike Radar guys out for a pint as well as it's their part of the world (and presumably they have expense accounts  ) so the more the merrier.

Rumours no longer rumours, I am flying to Rio on Monday. I return the 6th after a 14 hour flight in economy the thought of 7 hours cycling is knackering.

Ticket BA premium economy inc taxes : £2600
Ticket BA business class inc taxes : £4900

Really hard to convince the boss. However i still hold a silver card and I need the air miles. THough won't earn enough points this year to maintain silver.

Watching this as I will be one of the welcoming comittee, probably 2 miles from the centre of Brizzle  if it goes ahead.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Do you have a route saved somewhere that you could share?

It's something I want to do in the near future when I get a spare weekend. Having dug around online I found a Garmin route on a charity web site, but I wanted to research alternatives.

Being a commuting plodder, I'd be interested in how long you think it will take?

    Who's actually doing this now?
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.
  • I was up for this but the folks I was going to visit in the West Country weren't up for it next w/end.

Why don't we reorganise when Rich is back on his bike and ready to do an all day ride?

I think this is a good idea, will give me time to get my stamina to a level where i can join in as well.

    next year then

I tried the fixie yesterday and it scared me senseless. Anything that feels like it's going to wrench my shoulder, like turning a corner, and I automatically release my grip. I've got physio, ultrasound scans etc over the next month or so before I get a prognosis for how long I'll be off the bike so next year seems feasible:cry:
