I have decided to get these pads, but I'm still open to other suggestions.

Problem is that I fall between two sizes, top of my leg is one size, bottom is the other.
I may grow into them aswell (not sure how much my knee is going to grow though. )

What would you advise - go for the slightly larger one (the medium), or the small?

I was same - the large were too tight round the knee but the xtra large felt too loose. I also didn't like how much the back of the leg they covered so ended up getting some raceface rally fr knee/shin combos instead.

Been very impressed with my kyle straights. They're very comfortable to wear, so much so that I've frequently forgotten I was wearing them, and end up walking into the chippie after a ride or something with them still on.

If you're between two sizes, I'd go for the smallest. They will lose elasticity with age, and it's better to have something slightly tight that stays put, and will slacken a little over time, than have something slightly too big, that will shift around, and get bigger still over time.

Oh, and if anyone knows how you're meant to take the plastic cup out of them for washing (like they say you're able to do) then plese fill me in :?

i wer the xl sized ones cause my legs are massive.

they are absolutely mega, ive only had one off in them but i hade a definate line of bruising above and below where the pads were. if i hadnt been wearing them in the place where i fell (big slabs of rock) im certain i would have ending up doing some kind of bone breaking damage.

as yeehaa said, i forgot i was wearing mine, even on hot long climbs and i drove home and packed up my camping gear before i realised i was still wearing them.

im confident i will wear them anytime im riding off road from now on. i felt a bit of a webster at first just doing the gay pootling that i do but they are so unrestrictive and offer such good protection that i dont care how websters i look.

Right then, I'll see if i can try them on then, as the reviews speak for themselves, and Evans have got the 'earth' versions super - cheap (don't see why  )

I actually prefer the colouring of the "earth" ones, but they only had them in size small in my local shop.

    should be "You're websters".

As it's an abbreviation of you are, the apostrophe represents the dropped "a".

    You webster

that truly is websters, i agree!.

the term comes from aldershot where '9 squadron' guys would go on a "websters night" which meant going to the local charity shop (or fancy dress shop depending on who is telling the story) called "websters" and buying some websters (invariably rubbish) clothes then go out for a night on the town. from there onwards the term websters was born. even in the army it is pretty much restricted to the engineers but is starting to be heard around other units even though it has been a term ive heard for the whole 12 years ive been in.

I love mine... I only liked them, til I had a couple of crashes, but now it's definately love. Comfy and unintrusive, unrestrictive, not even too sweaty, and excellent protection. Total win really.

Well i've gone and bought them now, they feel really good round the park, I'll have to test their protection levels out soon though in the woods

I've got a pair and I hardly notice that they're on when riding, which is pretty much what I was after.

If you're looking at buy a pair of decent pads, get yourself onto Evans - £29.99 in the sale for the 661 Earth ones
