I'm interested in buying a Cadenza with the Alfine hub gear. it looks like they've discontinued it for 2009. I'm wondering whether there have been any reliability issues with it or perhaps it's just more popular with dérailleurs.

Do you like yours? I'll be doing about 25miles a day.

They discontinued it for the UK purely on pricing grounds. Owners who've reported on Dahon.com forums are happy with theirs.

My Cadenza wheels are gash though, black spokes broken four times, had the back wheel rebuilt with silver spokes. Lockjaw is dodgy too.

Hinges are a bit of an issue, but then they are with most folders. One of mine needed replacing......

I ride with the allen key in my pocket and tighten the upper one at an appropriate moment
