Specialized Dolce v Trek 1.5

Hi all,
My girlfriend is in the process of buying a new road bike. She has it down to the entry level Specialized Dolce or the Trek 1.5. She'll be upgrading from a ~20 year old Trek.
She does a few triathlons every year, so she wants a bike that will race well. She also rides on a near daily basis, so she doesn't want to give up on comfort.
I am hoping for some insight on people familiar with entry level woman's road bikes.

I know two girls who got the Trek this year and both are very happy with it. They look a well put together bike for the money.0
