Planning a MTB weekend in the Lakes - ADVICE PLEASE
Me and the lads are planning to do a few days trail MTBing in the lake district this october.
Can anyone please advise if they know of any trails to do that aren't too far apart from each other.
We plan going up on the Friday and camp
Saturday morning a Trail and a different trail Saturday afternoon and camp Saturday evening
Sunday do a trail and then drive back.
If we could would camp same site and then drive to each trail from there.
Cheers
Craig

For Whinlater camp at Braithwaite(don`t forget to do the blue)
You can stay there and do the Borrowdale Bash, a Lakes classic. Then there are variations of the Skidaw/Blencartha/Loughrigg route.
Get in touch with KMB http://www.keswickbikes.co.uk/acatalog/Specialized.html they and all Lakes shops have route maps available for a few ££.
Lots of pictures and routes here

Other bike shops;
http://www.biketreks.net/ great riding out of Ambleside.
Tons more riding from here http://www.wheelbase.co.uk/0 -
I definatly recommend doing The Bash 8)
Whinlatter is really good but you'll have it all done in one morning- nothing o stop you doing a couple of laps though0 -
I would recommend Whinlatter as others have, (in fact I am going there today!) but if you are going to do the North Face at Grizedale do it first as the condition of it will look pants after Whinlatter. There is actually better riding round Grizedale and Coniston without going near the badly kept singletrack! The Lake District Mountain Bike is good and most of the routes in it have a pub at some point which can't be a bad thing!0

There are loads of excellent bridleways running in and around Grizedale. Have a look here for some good lakes info:

You should also aim to do a route around Staveley and Kentmere and possibly up High Street.
And although not technically the Lakes (they`re in the Yorkshire Dales but only a short drive from the Lakes) head to Sedbergh and go up the Calf and drop down into Bowderdale in the Howgills.0
