I dont know if this has been posted yet.

Seems some local bike shop has been selling nicked gear and selling it off on ebay. Police can be contacted on 0345 6060365.

I phoned this morning, spoke to a helpful officer who explained they are collating as much information from people as possible and will hold an open day either this week or next fort people to come and identify their bikes.

Good news.

Is it looking likely that your Stumpy could be there? Hopefully it's good news.
  • Here's an interesting thread with a response from what looks like the bike shop owner halfway down:

Looks like the police could have fcuked up on this one.

IF they have I hope the owner of the shop will be compensated for loss of trade and reputation!
  • does look that way dosen't it Dowse40 - hopefully if it is a police cock-up this guys reputation wont be pissed away!
  • I love this bit "The frames alone of some of the bikes we recovered were worth more than £1,000, and some of the add-ons can fetch hundreds of pounds.”
I assume this is French petrol - be careful in reverse - the car will retreat rapidly at the least provocation.

That doesn't sound good either way.... if its a balls up by the police then it could put that shop out of business, but if they are selling nicked stuff then they will definately be out of business......
  • sorry to ressurect this, but what was the case in the end, did the police spaff it up, or was the guy a fence?
