I'm gonna buy an Xbox 360 tomorrow, almost certainly from Game. Does anyone have any tips?
I wanna buy GTA IV with it and I've looked into the different options and I know I don;t want an arcade version. I don't want to spend too much more than £200 if possible, so what kind of thing should I be looking for?
Any advice will be taken, thanks in advance.

20gb hard drive is plenty. Play and charge kit for wireless controller. GTA ain't that good but it's ok, just too much hype. Buy some of the older games that are cheaper now. Some quality titles depending on what you like (Crackdown, Call Of Duty 4, Assasins Creed, Gears Of War 1 or 2).0

I forgot to ask. I have wireless broadband, do I have to buy an adapter to connect to the internet or does it find it by itself, like the Wii does?
In general I like driving games and the like, is Call of Duty 4 really good? I've seen one of the Call of Duty games (one that was on PS2) and it just seemed a bit expansive. I know that sounds strange because I like GTA but I can just pick that up and mess around if I don't want to commit myself for ages.
Thanks for the advice anyway, I hadn't thought about the controllers needing to be charged, otherwise you'd spend a fortune on batteries0 -
Yep you have to buy an adaptor, it's quite expensive too, maybe look in to repositioning your router!
I'm playing Skate 2 and NHL 09 mostly atm. GTA IV is good though! You live and learn. At any rate, you live0 -
No wireless built in and the 360 specific one is a complete rip off (£60 or something). I suggest a wire or a different wireless solution if you have to.
I prefer the external quick charge kit to the play and charge one, but it is a bit more expensive. The play and charge one basically needs the box on, which kinda turns your wireless controller into a wired one. The quick charge quick really is quick.
If you like driving games pick up Forza 2 (semi-realistic style) and enjoy, it's very good. It's very cheap nowadays, especially second hand. COD4 is OK - quickish gameplay and not too "realistic" for a quick bash... I'll let others recommend other games.0 -
Thanks for all the help.
Let this be a warning to you. If you act on a whim you do stupid things like this.
I've got an interview tomorrow afternoon so I'm gona buy this in the morning to force me to do well and get the job!0 -
It's all about CoD! Four or WAW, the best games xbox has to offer IMO. I wouldn't recommend GTA IV if you've played all the previous games as the missions are all pretty much the same! I got bored of it very quickly!0

I played a lot of Rainbow Six Vegas too. Excellent game. Never got into the GTA series, much preferred Saints Row, but well aware I'm in a minority there.0

Just sold my Elite with 5 games £150 - you should have mentioned you wanted one beforePowered by Haribo.0

Best games on the 360, imo
Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Crackdown (far superior GTA style game)
Gears Of War 2
Halo 3
Progect Gotham Racing 3
Pro Evo Soccer 2008
Call Of Duty 4 - Modern Warefare
Most of them you will now be able to pick up dirt cheap. Crackdown and Gears Of War 2 are my favourite games by far for the 360 and I have had it since launch, GTA was poo, and i have played a lot of games!Full Susser - GT I-Drive XCR 5
Hardtail - GT Aggressor XC 2
Road Bike - GT GTR Series 40 -
Right. I got a 60GB ('cos that's all they had left) for £170 with an extra controller and two dirt cheap games (Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda) then managed to get GTA IV for £20.
I was told Saints Row was better too, but I played it in the shop and didn't like the look really. Still, bargainous times!
Also, FCE, I only decided I wanted one last night lol.
P.S. I got the job so it was worth it in the end0
