Another hardtail frame :D
Completely different to the surge, perfect for the lil fleet i'm building up!
Can ye guess what it is? Fairly sure it's somethink Nick is missing!(that's a clue).
Still can't justify the cost or purpose of a fs...

I hope anyways lol, gotta phone tomorrow because the payment page screwed up :(

now this, in my opinion, is the real reason folk dont buy fs bikes. really good ones are shocking expensive, especially at the moment. if i hadnt already bought my bikes there is no way i could afford the current prices.

I'm with Sheep on this one.
There's nothing wrong, as such with a hardtail. Just like there's nothing wrong with a w**k.
However, a full suss is better, just like a good sh*g is

    NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Seriously, if you're heavier than 2 GRAMS, then, by all means, use on on the back, but for God's sake, get an M4 for the front!

    Otherwise, not too shabby!

But, be prepared for a **very** 'twangy' fork...

    ^^^^^^

how do you feel now sheeps? hehe

    Comfy?, oh, ok then.

Both bikes have their attributes, but I don't need a fs bike, I did have one( a moment of insanity), the frame of which is now in the garage.

i'll concede that there are folk who prefer ht but ask anyone about their money no object bike fleet and the picture often tends to change a bit.

Money no object - I can see your point as several 'all mountain' full sussers pop into mind, but I know deep down that I don't want any of that. Hardaits are much more fun, and yes, I have to think that because there is no way in my right mind i'll be able to lose £4000 on a bike that only lets me go a little bit faster.

Be decieved to marketing claims, snazy pics, dowwnhill dreams all you want, but I'm going to stay on a HT, it makes sense.

I prefer different bikes for different things.

But for my general riding, the Zaskar Carbon is the best bike I have over owned.

i love how ht owners get about their bikes. and i love the reasons why

ive got nowt against ht bikes, ive owned loads of them but i know i dont like them in general. i like fs bikes cause ive ridden good ones and for me they are better, not necessarily because a magazine tells me anything.

my apologies to ben for turning this thread into a ht v fs topic.

I have the same sentiments about FS for my general rides. But I do like certain full sus for some riding - and a road bike for other riding!

Can't fooking stand single speeders though lol.

I like hardtails because they make you think more about lines, weight shifts, blah blah

It's too easy on full sussers to just batter through everything with no skill - I had a Patriot fo r a while and aside fromt he fact it was too heavy for everyday rides in southern england and hopeless for anywhere with big hills you had to get up it also failed to stir me where the same run on a hardtail left me breathless.

My Heckler recent build feels better as I seem to be able to climb and it has a fantastic squat and squirt quality through corners but I cant see it replacing my hardtail for a 2 hour sprint on local tracks.

Not sure about 29ers - I'd like to try one but dont think I'd buy one.
