how does single pivot suspension cause brake jak?

There has been many attempts to combat brake jack over the years (there used to be an aftermarket system for the old Hope C2 brakes).
The issue seemed to go away until some marketing/sales Guru jumped back on the Brake Jack bandwagon.
I suspect that its not really a big issue and its just in the bike manufacturers interest to turn it into one!0
