Thought this needed a new thread.
For me a definate no no on the road.

Reason - well never would but last week hammered it home, and I would now be dead if I wore headphones, as car went through a red light and missed me by a whisker, I did emergency stop as I heard him, but could not see as I had green light onto a main road but with buildings close to junction.

On saying that, when off road, i have occasionaly had an ipod on....

  • You've started one thread on RLJ, another on headphones.

Where are the threads on hybrids and helmets to complete the set?

I didn't realise hybrids were that dangerous - will be on the lookout on way home...

Guess I am going over old ground, but I am a newbie on here and havent trawled into all the old stuff, just canny be bothered, so apologies.

Hybrids are fine and do a job, some like some dont.

Helmets, some wear, some dont, I wear in traffic or if doing tougher off roads but dont at other times.

Don't think either hybrids or helmets endanger others as much as RLJ or headphones.

We've done headphones to death - try having a search. I use em and they've not caused any hassle.
  • Sorry, I was being facetious, it's just that people tend to have strong opinions on these things and the pro and anti camps will never agree however much evidence one way or the other is presented.

It just gets a bit tedious (for me) to have the same old debates trotted out over and over.

  • I've started wearing earplugs when I'm riding. Fantastic! Can't hear a thing - I just glide along in peace and quiet. Saves me huge amounts of time each evening that I used to waste trying to discover the source of random rattles and squeaks.
Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.
