Never saw the original, but wow, seeing that is impressive..
Amazing how much stress that tube can take and how it pops back into shape..

And that video illustrates perfectly the biggest problem (imho) with composites - their ability to pop back into shape with no outward sign of damage at all :(

Even after the first 'squash' in the vice it's quite possible that some of the internal layers could have been damaged / weakened - and yet there's no practical way to tell - the outside looks fine
  • you can hear the carbon splitting inside! wouldnt like to ride that frame after mind!!
i would have thoguht that you could physically squeeze the down tube where they vice'd it and change the shape of it afterwards due to the majority of the weave being broken,

but is funny to see it pop back into shape!

    Wow. :o
    That's one mean frame.

    I want one.

Btw, I wonder what will happen with an alu one or a steel one after the same treatment.
    Anyone has any video.

I love the new international standard test of structural integrity: "the finger tap test"

"see I can tap my finger on it and nothing happens, it must be fine!"

    impressive none the less.

I've seen it that one when supersonic posted, but it's borring and it's short. One hit and that's all.
I want to see alu and steel frames take some abuse like the Taurine.

And maybe he hit the alu frame bit harder than the Taurine, but the Taurine frame is
bouncy, which may cause him to hit himself with the hammer in the head.
