I was shown the site by my shop's Endura rep and have now set up my first loop on there...... how simple is it??? Soooooo much better than using memory map or that infernal Garmin software!!!

Anyway, here's the link to the ride for those local to me......

http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=15008

It includes Aston Hill, Ivinghoe Beacon and Whipsnade hill and totals 64 miles so if you're a fat bast like me good luck! I'll be trying it Tuesday with a stop off at Wendover Woods cafe.

It's a great site. I was using bikely before finding this, and all the things I disliked about bikely and features I wished they could add seems to be in Bikehike.

personally I use Map my ride which is similar in terms of mapping but seems to have more other contents and a better overall site design / interface IMO

    My 2p:

I have used both and as far as I can see both have some issues which still want resolving and each has pros and cons.

The lack of adverts on bikehike is refreshing after using map my ride. I actually find that map my ride has a worse mapping interface - especially the undo function which is excellent on bikehike compared to map my ride. I also find the screen dimensions on map my ride somehow more difficult to work with - there seems to be a lot of border.

However, bikehike doesn't have the most intuitive site construction and generally stored information is much easier to access on map my ride (although still not that great). Also some of the additional training functionality on map my ride is useful although the free version is so ad-ridden I have pretty much given up with it.

Both suffer from not enabling the user to edit the midsection of the route without deleteing all of the following or previous points. Both try and both implementations are largely unworkable and any workable method undocumented. This might be a function of the underlying google maps software so might not be a fair criticism.

I have used map my ride in the past but generally use bikehike now. I just prefer the look and feel of it and the loss of functionality doesn't really register.
