Hi,

I have a brake problem. Am generally pretty hopeless but can normally adjust the brakes (V-brakes) OK. Problem is at the brake lever end - th emetal casing at the end of brake cable cover isn;t staying in the barrel adjuster.

i.e. I tighten the cable OK but then when I use the brake the brake housing just comes away fro the adjuster.

Any ideas?

Thanks

The inner cable is sticking in the outer which is why the outer is loose at the lever. Time to lube the inner cable properly by thaking it out of the outer and squirting lube down the outer cable till it comes out the other end. Or buy complete new cables.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Right, I guess that makes sense. I thought that there must be some simple trick I was missing.

Solution not as simple as I hoped.

    Anyway, thanks.
