My back brake isn't working!

I've got a GT I-Drive XCR and its only 5 weeks old and my back brake isnt working properly, it does slow you down but not fast enough for riding trails to be honest. i checked the pad and there's plenty of pad left of them. Does any one know why this is happening to me?
