Looking for a good trail bike

I recently went to dalby an did a little bit of the red route on a bike i hired and really enjoyed it. So now im looking for a good bike i can do this on in the price range of £250-350. all suggestions welcomed, thanks.

    have a good hunt on ebay and in classified adds, cant realy see you getting much for your budget new and there are plenty of very good bikes to be had on the 2nd hand market at a fraction of the price!

    as your new i would say look for a hardtail as it will teach you to pick better lines and you get more for your money usualy buy make sure you do your research before parting with your hard earned

    i got a 1998 gary fisher superclaiber with rockshox SID and full XTR spec for £320 after a good hunt

    reviews say it all, great option

    would still keep one eye on the 2nd hand market but if you want new that looks like a great bike to get you started and you can always upgrade componants as you feel fit and as your riding progreses
