Hi. I am new to this bike world.. I just moved to a decent countryside and was looking to buy a bike to commute to my work which is like 7 miles from home.
I prety much ride on road (which is why i choose to buy a road bike), but i also want to ride off-road (like in forests without proper roads or some off-road paths) weekends.. Now I am stuck with either road or hybrid.. Also my budget adds to this issue.. I am a recent graduate and so my budget is £250 max. Also me being tall (6'2), ths choices might be less. So far I have come across two bikes that fits my budget:
hybrid ex-display and so low price with some scratches)

or

Please help me find my first decent bike
thanks...

if you can get to Pauls Cycles in dereham (near norwich) they do the airlite 200 for £290 and the 300 for £360 (give them a ring to check as not all bikes on website). I brought the 300 myself for commuting + weekend rides. Only complaints stem is a little long and wheels are not brilliant.0

For that price mate, the best you will get is this (depending on your height)

or if you can stretch it by another £50 then this would be my choice.

Have you considred 2nd hand? you will get a lot better kit for the money if you did.0
