Hey,

Has anyone completed a course with Dirt Divas?

http://www.dirtdivas.co.uk/

They are right on my doorstep and I wondering if there beginner course is worth the £85 it costs. I am resonable confident and chuck myself down hills, over bumpy ground, roots, small jumps and twisty roads. I might not be doing it the best way mind you but I am not scared! I could do with some advise on riding positionand maintenance though

I will give them a ring but just wanted first hand experiance

Thanks :D

Went on a course with them a few months back and they were really good - nice day out!

To the OP; if you're already confident on singletrack then you might want to start with the singletrack skills course. Especially if you're going to wait until October - plenty of practise time before then! Back to basics goes through basic techniques like lifting the front and back wheels to go over objects, simple drops and obstacles, a bit of flat singletrack, positioning on the bike when going up and down steep hills etc If you can already do all that then start with singletrack skills.

I'd give them a ring before you book to find out what would be best - they're a friendly bunch!
  • I'd agree with all that.

The best thing it did for me was really boost my confidence. I learned a few things, but the most important thing I learned was how much I already knew, if you know what I mean.

I think the problem girls can have is that we tend to ride with blokes that are faster, better, fitter, whatever. We judge ourselves by their standards and it's not fair to do that to ourselves.

By going on this course, I learned that I was already a good rider and the only thing stopping me was my head. My husband has been telling me that for years, but he always says nice things to me and is never critical.

Sometimes you just need to hear it from someone who you know isn't worried they're putting their conjugal rights on the line every time they open their mouths

    That's hilarious :lol::lol:

And now I know why my other half told me I was the best girlie MTB'er he knew a few weeks ago

My OH tells me that all the time. Very sweet of him, but he hasn't met many!

+1 for everything Ditch Witch said. I had the same experience, whereby I went home knowing I was actually a lot better than I thought I was.
  • Cheers Girls!

There are spaces in September for the Basics but my husband is away that weekend so I cant go

So I think I might be better with the nsingle Track one in October then. I dont think I will get too much out of the Basics one as I will have had a couple more months practise!

I will have to check availability for the October one now. Hopefully this will tie in nicly with how my skills are coming along. I ventured to the edge of Swinlry at teh weekend via Crowthorne Woods and went down quite a few steep bit no brakes, bumps and all and didnt wipe out, so I am feel ing a bit more confident too.
