Creaking when turn my pedals

Hi
I think it may be the bottom bracket but want a second opinion (as if i can avoid a new bottom bracket then great).
When i turn my left pedal there is a creak/clunk sound. When i pedal faster it just makes the noise more frequently. It occasionally does it on the right pedal but mostly on the left. It is really annoying as everypne can hear me coming from a mile off haha.
Any help as to the problem would be great.
I have done approx 1500-1800 miles on the bottom bracket & have tried taking off the pedal arm/putting it back on etc & applying WD40 & lube to the bedal/crank area.

Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.

Have a look on Park Tools or the FAQ for a step by step guide on how to identify bike noises.0

Try removing the pedals, removing any grit from all 4 threads (the ones on the pedals and the inner ones on the cranks) and putting the pedals back on. Make sure you put them on properly.0

Had the same thing on two of my bikes in the same week.
On one I replaced the GPX BB as it was shagged... I could feel how course one of the bearing races was by hand
On the other it was nothing more than a lube and re-tightening of the ISIS BB that solved it
Both tasks were done by my LBS at a very reasonable cost.
If you don't have the tools to undertake the task yourself, don't bodge things, get it through to your LBS for a check over. It won't cost too much0 -
Could be any number of things, bb, saddle or seatpost are common causes.
Had a creak on mine the other say, it might be my wtb saddle trouble is i stripped and regreased the seatpost and bb so i'll throw it back on as i do get on well with it, fingers crossed that isn't the cause. The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Try all of the above, if you don't find out from all of that, like I did, I looked closely at the frame and had a crack in the weld, so I hope its not that :? Good luck0

I had a creak, still do now and again. It turned out to be my seatpost that was making it, a bit of copper slip and it was cured for a while.
My saddle sometimes creaks which sounds like a squelch
Bottom bracket was replaced but it had a fair bit of play and the new one has a habit of sounding like a tweeting bird flying down by my feet.
My personal feeling is that if its got a clunk then it may need a new BB. You dont have to spend a fortune and in my case anything i buy from LBS they fit For freefly like a mouse, run like a cushion be the small bookcase!0
