Just wanted an opinion from you guys. Considering buying either a Trek Madone 5.2 or a Felt F3 SL. Anybody got any thoughts?

Have you got a local bike shop that stocks both bikes? If so go and see if you can test ride them both and decide from there which to go for. Both bikes are nice bikes, personally I'd go for the Trek but that's because I've already got a few and love them0

Well, the thing is the Trek has now been reduced from £2,500 to £2,000 so its a bargain whereas the Felt is still £2,350. Found a bike shop that stocks the Trek but the Felt is really difficult to find for a test ride. Like the look of the Felt and fancy trying SRAM but Trek is such a bargain. I currently ride a Condor Squadra so it will be an upgrade either way.0

As I said earlier I've got a few Treks, Madone 6.9 pro and a 5.2 pro as well as some of the older aluminium ones. I ride my 5.2 most days but I bought the frameset and build it with Dura Ace 7800. I do fancy trying SRAM myself as well but the wife would kill me as I've just ordered a 2010 5.2 so that's on the backburner.
You can't go wrong with Treks, they have a crash replacement warranty but so far I've not needed to use it.
Which year model is it you've found for £2k0 -
Its the 2009 model from Evans. If you have a 5.2 why are you getting anew one? there is no change to this year's 5 series from 2009 or 2008.0

I'm getting a 2010 model just because I can pick the paint job and would have my b*lls chopped off for buying a 6.9 otherwise I would0

Thanks mate for the advice. I'm guessing you are Trek crazy! Going for a test ride tomorrow.
If anyone out there has a Felt F3, interested to know what you think.0 -

I think you deserve a medal for that! The 2010 Madone 6.9 in yellow black and white has been my laptop wallpaper for some time now. Amazing looking bike.
I am also +1 for the Madone option, but I would hurry looks like they are selling fast.
You might also want to get the Madone and then gradually upgrade. Ultegra SL is very good anyway but Dura Ace would be a nice upgrade for what is an excellent bike.0 -
I'm being drawn towards the Madone range for my first 'serious' road bike.
Which model would you guys say is the best sub-£2000 option?
Is it worth hunting around for a cheap 2009 version, or should I bite the bullet and fork out for a 2010?0 -

I'd hunt around for the 5.2 2009 model as the 2010 is £29000 -
I ride the madone 4.7. Great bike it isn't the OCLV frame the pros use but has full Ultegra Groupset and is a great ride. Came in at under 2k so very good price0

I was looking for ages as to what bike to get on a £2000 budget and eventually I picked up a '09 Madone 5.2 from Evans last week for £1999 and can't recommend it enough. the only thing I needed to change was the saddle to a Fizik Arione.0

Didn't get to go in the end. Was hoping to sell my old Stumpjumper on the Saturday which I was going to use as a deposit. Buyer backed out at the last minute. Didn't want to be in the position of test riding it, loving it and buying it regardless.[/quote]0

Oh dear, not good news0

I've had an F3 SL for a few months. It's sublime. Sram Red's smooth well worth taking the leap into another way of working. The Kyserium wheelset rolls like silk and it's not a compact frame.http://twitter.com/mgalex
