Why do cyclists always get abuse in Edenbridge? I can cycle 60 miles nothing but joy, head through Edenbridge and you always get abuse...Any suggestions as to why???
No one told me about that hill!!!

  • Somebody in a passing car spat on me today and called me a cunt......

I did the same to him 2.5 miles later.

I suspect that I found it much more satisfying / amusing than he did.

Did you get it through his open window? I managed that with a murderous cabbie in London a few months ago, gobbed right through his open window. In fairness he had tried to kill me and was ranting like a lunatic. Had to scarper pretty sharpish though.

I actually live very very near to Edenbridge, and commute from there to Crawley daily. I have never ever had any abuse whilst out on my bike.

Exactly what abuse have you been the recieving end off?

Yes got it through the window and full in his face. Not nice but he did it to me.

He had obviously not considered the possibility that a bike is faster than a car through London traffic and had his window nice and open for me.

Given the route we were on down the Mile End Road, it is a fair bet that he would not turn off.

Which is why I kept up the chase even after I could no longer see him. :D
