Afternoon people,
I felt i must share todays experience. I went to work on my Scale 50 (only bike) last night and decided to go home a longer more relaxing route this morning, when i was checking the new stem bolts were still tight and having a quick brew i noticed a large dint/dang on my down tube. I dont remember it being there yesterday but it could have been. It looks like it may just fold in on itself and maybe hurt me
Having got my bike via cyclescheme in feb 08 i have had it insured as a named item on my home insurance. After wondering what would be said i gave them a bell and had the usual qs then i was forwarded o their claims people who would ring me back in 24hrs. 2 and a half hours later i was woken up with their phone call and after about 10 mins i was being offered a Kona Kula as a replacement 8) .
This is not a "look what i am getting" topic. Its a basic story with basic background of events to remind people to make sure you are properly insured as my day/week/month/year could have been ruined as i for sure could not have found a spare grand to replace a bike. lost, stolen or injured.
Yes i know my premiums will go up but in the huge great big scheme of things i doubt it will be nearly the price of a new bike

well done, that's what insurance is for. Glad to hear about a firm coming through so quickly and with so little complaint.
which insurance company? (they deserve props)Everything in moderation ... except beer
Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer
If riding an XC race bike is like touching the trail,
then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it
... or being punched by it, depending on the day0 -

Surprised they offered a replacement without confirmation from an LBS that it's terminal, good to hear though.0
