Hi people,
Having not had a bike for a few years I have decided to get back into riding. Have a budget of around £2k to spend at the end of the month. There are so many bikes available but I have managed to narrow it down to a couple. The Trek Remedy 7 and the Lapierre Spicy or possibly a Froggy. I'm looking for something that will take a bit of abuse as I'm not as light as I used to be. Any thoughts on the above would be appreciated or any suggestions of other bikes to look at before I part with my cash? I'm in N.Wales so will be riding surrounding areas with the occasional trips to places like Glentress.

If you rides are mostly short, sharp and full of big rocks, then they seem good choices. If you plan some long days out thrashing trails, you may find them overkill. Spicy is more for the latter.

depends on what riding you're planning on doing. Look at Zesty, EX8, Meta, Roscoe Trance X etc for something more usable.

Or get a nice sweet custom long travel hard tail..

after demo'ing both a froggy and a zesty i'd go for the zesty cos the froggy is overkill for anything UK unless you are at fort bill or do trips to the Alps! zesty is pleanty 'Am' enough for the UK, saying that my next AM bike is gonna be a Trek remedy (8 hopefully!) as this is also a great all mountain bike and not too overkill :)
Both zesty and remedy are very capable bikes - i ride mainly at glyncorrwg/afan as its just down the road :D

    Hope thats helps!
