An "Ignore" function

A scuba diving forum I used to belong to had an ignore function. Basically if there was a particular person's drivel really irritating you you could click on an "ignore" icon and their posts would be blanked when you logged on. This didn't affect anybody else, just saved you from the irritation.

Would this be doable here?
