Anyone ever used one? Friend of mine is looking at buying one as nearest gym with one is 20 miles away.

Would it be worth the drive or better to buy a home version or are they just another fab / gimick.

Don't own one but have seen a few write-ups on them and they seem to be pretty effective, but also seem very expensive given they really just provide a bit of a boost to existing exercises rather than give you a whole new type of exercise. I guess it depends what your friend is looking for (I certainly wouldn't buy one for cardio work but might be good for toning up and core strength stuff).
  • Massive gimmick, and not a lot known bout side effects
gudfor press ups, planks etc u get more effective workout otherwise cmplete bollox.
Worked for a premier league football club few yrs back when they 1st came out and we got a load in and had a play around. Managed to improve maximal quads strength when tsted on a special machine but only short lasting. Most of the leg ex's arein a static position and it shud b remembered that strength gains made in static position like a ski sit are only particular to the specific angle of the joint. Aslo got some funny sciatic nerve issues following stretching.
Couple of 5 spots, a hummer and a handjob.....

If you've got room for that rubbish you've got room for a power rack/bench - literally hundreds of proven effective exercises you can do with that
