Chucky Egg! Wow, I'd forgotten about that!

It was brilliant. A lot of hours went into that game.

No - the best film ever made was and always will be 'Casablanca'
I never quite got the reverence in which an unattractive American bloke who couldn't act was held. Nor for that matter a plain German lady who couldn't act. Nor a plodding screenplay set in north Africa.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly gets my vote. No acting, just artwork strung together by music and wit.

Did you have the 5 tracks for "Revs" I remember it took me ages just to get around a corner, but once I'd got the knack, I was hooked.

So, how long would it take for you to remember the patterns of the bad guys in Chuckie Egg now?

I only had Silverstone, I think. Ah, I remember the days: racing against Gloria Slap (her husband/bf was a Space Station Police pilot in Elite IIRC) or Johnny Turbo late into the night, powering through Woodcote.

I'd be stuffed if I played CE now. There were certain jumps where you had to take off right on the edge of the block.

I'm 19, I remember playing Free Willy 3: The Final Frontier or something on my ZX Spectrum loaded from tape (I was very young, I think I had that thing since birth). I remember albums on tape and games on floppy disks and Sega Mega Drives. We only had 4 1/2 channels until about 5 years ago.
Did that make anyone feel young?

I had a BBC B. "Revs" and "Elite" was about as good as it got (although they were brilliant. Back then.) "Chuckie Egg" was another of my favourities.

There was a brief discussion about this last year. A number of our flock on here hadn't ever heard of "Cannonball Run". As in, the Best Film Ever Made.
But if you were a posh kid who got bought a BBC B, you didn't get to play Manic Miner.

I believe that there is a Tandy TRS80 somewhere in our family which still works. Yes, 1980. That's Tandy, not Radio Shack.

We used to have Space Invaders for it, but the graphics weren't good enough for "Pong".

Does anyone else but me remember "Zork", by the way? Used to play that on an IBM clone with an "86" processor. Not a 386, or a 486, or even a 286. An 86. The CPU must have been drawn by hand using one of those silver art pens.

I remember black and white television. This was BC(before cable). I also remember
BEFORE remote control and having to twist a dial(on the TV) to change channels.

I could play Zork on it, that's all I knew. Never could figure out how to get back out of the caves though, or really why I was there and what I was looking for. But I was only about 8.

I just rented a cottage for a few days in the Scottish Highlands. There was a telly with no remote and a tuning knob. (Colour mind you). Also a clingfilm dispenser and a chip fryer, perfectly preserved and teleported from 1978. Same went for the carpets. Best of all was a microwave the size of a Volvo which appeared to generate about 100W, most of which was directed outward. Magical.

Elite! I remember putting hours into that game. I could never quite get the knack of docking on space stations to trade until someone showed me a cheat code which automatically gave yuo a docking computer, then I was well away. I used to love getting into dogfights with the pirates too...

Yep. I've got Spectaculator. It's not freeware (any more) but only costs a few dollars but runs pretty much all of the tzx files that i've downloaded from that site.

Docking was an art. If you had enough credits, you could buy the Auto-Docker equipment.

Dogfights with the Space Station Police were fantastic. I used to pick on them if I was in a bad mood by approaching the Space Station all guns a'blazin' directing my fire at the gap you docked through because that's where the police came out. Think you received 0.5 credits for each kill. Not prosperous business, I know, but it eased the tension. Felt like the end of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (now that's a film Jay  ).

Did you ever get caught in Witch Space i.e. some sort of Nowhere's-ville full of Thargons and Thargoids?
