Just thought i would recommend a great bike servicing place in Ealing. They are called " The Bike Whisperer" and they are great.
Scherrit & Corinne were both very friendly and not only managed to squeeze me into their heavy booked up schedule but also managed to sort my bike out which is very good indeed.
I will use them from now on and may even get myself a set of handbuilt wheels in the new year.

Been hearing a few good reports about them on this site and it's great to have a good local servicing place. Will be giving them a call soon to book a service for my newly designated winter hack.0

I had a fitting with Scherrit earlier in the year, and it was well worth the £85.
Scherrit measured my feet and legs, joint positions etc, and then observed me on my bike on a turbo, took detailed measurements of it and finally made some tiny (8mm max) adjustments to my bike (lateral seat position and angle, cleat position). He was rather apologetic that he could only make a few small adjustments, as despite the chronic neck/shoulder pain I was hoping he could cure, my bike was already "90% correctly set up"
Measurements, before and after, were written down in case I needed to come back in the future. All subsequent visits for 'tweaking' are included in the initial cost, by the way.
Anyhoo - apart from a couple of days with some new aches in my leg muscles as a result of these subtle position changes, it was a revelation - the 'red hot wire' feeling between my shoulders on any ride over about 15 miles magically vanished - I went for a 100 mile day including a lap of the Isle of Wight 5 days later without a twinge, which I absolutely couldn't have contemplated before.
Highly recommended (don't be put off by the slightly shonky website)!Litespeed Tuscany, Hope/Open Pro, Ultegra, pulling an Extrawheel trailer, often as not.
FCR 4 (I think?)

Cheers mate, I think I'll go and give the bike fit a go to see if it helps with my back. There is never redemption, any fool can regret yesterday...

Not a new pair, but Scherrit re-built a rear wheel I'd been having constant problems with - spokes constantly going ping on the drive side - despite Condor's repeated and not terribly good efforts at sorting it out. He put a lot of effort into tracking down the right spokes and did a rock solid job. It's been fine ever since despite heavy use. He really knows his stuff and I'm sure he'd advise you well on parts and do a good build.
Nice people who care about good service - a definite thumbs up from me.0 -
They are great, very friendly and do a great job. They're currently rebuilding one of my wheels. Definately a far better job than the chain stores and great prices.
Been to them a few times now, I live around the corner so very convinient.
Going to get them to build a beast of a bike in a few months for me.0
