God that was a close call this evening.

Travelling up Salmon Street NW9 this evening towards Wembley on my way to get my bike serviced and some stupid twat in a Blue Merc comes flying up Mallard Way and turns left right into my path. How I missed going into the f*cker I will never know. I have never shouted so loud. All he said to me is "I didn't see you" I wear a bright red helmet and jersey for Christ's sake. Thankfully the Black Cab coming the other way saw what was about to happen and came to a standstill so i did not go head on in to him.

The guy follows me all the way to the roundabout and pulls up beside me and again repeats the famous line. I said next time i'll be under your ******* wheels.

That incident really shook me up.

Do you face sideways or backwards on your bike?

The car was coming from my left. Mirrors would not have made any difference to this. Th driver stopping at the GIVE WAY line would he prevented this. Have alook at the map and go to street view. Where Mallard Way meets Salmon Street,

Looking at streetview, He must have been blind not to see you. It's a very open junction with good visibility Glad your ok.

There are some divs about aint there. Had two myself this morning heading into work. One seemed to get a***ey as if it was my fault for not waiting as he pulled out of a side road from my right. The second driver cut a corner and nearly brushed my elbow with the side of the people carrier, thankfully I was in a good secondary, also shouted a warning to the driver here as well and got an apology.

Every time a driver cries SMIDSY it means "I wasn't looking". The phrase annoys the hell out of me. Some kid around the corner from here killed a little lad down the road, drove off and left kiddie in the road to die. He'd been rushing around, excelled the speed limit, not just over it but nearly double it, and when he was caught by the Plod he told them he hadnt realised he'd hit anyone.

Every time we get on or in our vehicles we need to remember that we need to take the time to look and acustom ourselves with our surroundings.

(sorry half alseep, been a lon g day hope I've made sense  )

Everyone makes mistakes, i'm not defending the guy but by getting angry he probably, in turn, got angry so......... Hang on, not sure where i'm going with this but it is frustrating, however um, i'll shut up now

Glad you're ok Ryan. Carry a water bottle full of paint stripper on the bike.

Give their car a good spraying in future, pretty sure they'd notice bikes after that :-)
