(my own blog, I've put up a pic on there).

Now I dont have a problem with this personally. It doesnt affect me, but I did hear last month that another cyclist said he was issued with a sign on his bike and he was "clamped" with another D Lock. The sign they put on his bike was asking for £35 to remove the lock, this appears to be a new sign - though it was barely held to the railings by a single, tiny cable tie.

The place where he's parked his bike was also a wide open area of pavement with a good 12 foot of clearance past it and the railings for wheel chairs, etc. It would be nice if the hospitals gave us more cycle parking, however, instead of installing new offices all over the place, LOL! Perhaps that would solve the abuse of bad parking?

Cheers! Its not as i there isnt the space either. I have even suggested some, but as you said nothing gets done, not even a contact with sustrans or someone to donate stands.

And I've said before that many drivers park inconsiderately there - their cars are not clamped or removed - even when they park infront of fire exits!

DF, NHS place I was at and have thankfully left had a serious problem with car parking on site to the extent they were leasing land away from the site to park on and considering providing a bus to and from there.

But extend the cycle to work scheme for new staff? Nah, make 'em wait 6 months, during which time however if they needed parking they could get a permit....non-sensical and counterproductive but thats the way such geniius bureaucratic minds work.
'Twas Mulga Bill, from Eaglehawk, that caught the cycling craze....

We used to have a big park and ride scheme too. ..and I mean a place secure for 300 cars off-site and a regular bus to get you to and from work. People just kicked up about their "right to drive" and how the hospital should just get another multistorey carpark built. Nevermind the fact there was no space, no planning permission and the HUGE costs.

Right where that photo was taken there is a new car park built, space for about 20 cars. Now one of those spaces could have been used to put in 3 or 4 cycle stands, so those that used the railing could consider the stand instead, plus its more out of the way of the pavement.

PS anyone know C+'s letters email address? I have a load of mags but have misplaced them, thought I'd send them the pic too. :)
