I had my front brake hose fail at the weekend.
Decided to fit Goodridge front and rear to prevent the same thing happening in the future.

My bike shop couldn't get Goodridge hoses (???) so asked if I could get them for them to fit.

The hoses have now been fitted and brakes set up. The bike is ready to collect tomorrow.

They told me how much the labour charge is over the phone and I was amazed.

How much should I expect to pay????

    The cost is £45.

Bleeding a set of brakes usually costs £15 to £18. I wasn't expecting quite such a price hike.

They have to remove the old hoses and fit the new ones though. That's a reasonable cost.

    Thanks Nick.

It's good to know that the price is fair.
I don't want to moan if it's the going rate for the job.

    *Pez*what do I win?

Bleeding is the easy bit on old brakes..

removing hoses full of fluid can be a right pain.

have a think what would be involved.

remove brakes from bike. remove hoses.

empty and clean levers and calipers, re fit, measure hoses, measure hoses, cut. fit ends. bleed once. chase all the bubbles out of the new fittings and hoses bleed again.
