Extreme biking? What is this thing of which you speak?
As for bike choices - for a budget of £200-500 I'd steer well clear of full-suspension. Have a look at the "what bike and what size" sticky. You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
i didn't mean extreme my friend put this on for me im sort of at chick sands level do u no of it what bike would you recommend for it in my price range0

what bikes would u guys suggest do u like saracens0

Saracens aren't exactly known for their high quality. For a good quality full suspension bike you're looking at well above £800. Like Daz suggested, stick to a hardtail. What type of riding do you predominantly do? XC, DH, Jumping?0

whooops, massive generalisation! Sarancen make some brilliant budget bikes as well as some nice higher end hardtails. Yes, thay also sell some cheap crap through halfords but for the most part their bikes are good if used for the intended purpose. As Sonic said, Tha Mantra is a good choice, Wiggle have a hefty discount on the 3 right now."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -
does any one have had or rode the Saracen Raw DX 09 is it any good im only 12 so dont have loads of money realy want a full suspension after i read dazs comment i went and trailed a hardtail and wasnt to keen i suppose pushing it i could pay 450 MAX!!!!!0

I had its predecessor, the D Tox. Fun, but very heavy bike, useless on the roads.0

Specialized hardrock. Buying a full sus at £450 will mean its slow, heavy, and will probably break. And personally I think hardtails jump better. And whoever said Saracen don't make very good quality bikes, +1.0

hi guys im about 5 foot 11 and was wondering what size bike frame i would need0

why would you want a 19" full sus for dirt jumping?
£500 is a nice budget for a hardtail.0 -
Carrera Banshees break a lot, i only know this from working on so many, they arnt specced that great either. I would take Sonics advice and go for a hardtail, as you will either get a nice hardtail or a really bad full sus. also, you will learn to be a better rider on a hardtail and progress your skills a lot faster. im a big fan of the specialized hardrock series as they seem to be simple, good quality bikes. The only Saracen ive seen and liked a lot is the rufftrax 2, but thats way at the bottom end of your price range. It might be worth looking at a carrera kraken/fury or the GT xc.3/xc.2/xc.1 available at your local Halfords.Stumpjumper Comp: was marketed as a "cross country" bike, but with a bit of effort and 4 months in the saddle, i can safely call it a "cross continent" bike! Africa down, 6 to go. 8) FCN 110
