OMG I've finally lost it and been out on my Defy with lycra on. Arrrrrhhhhh!!!!
Until now I thought baggies would do for the little road riding I seem to have time for. But tonight I thought I'd just nip out, bits on show as surely I won't see anyone I know. All was going well until I passed a girl I work with who does triathlon and runs the tuesday night bike time trial training. I wasn't going out to do a good time - just a pootle round their TT route as a bit of a fat lads benchmark. But after passing her I thought I can't do that I must put a bit of effort in. Anyway 12.5 miles and 39.54mins later I passed them standing with the stop watches and keen to know my time. Trying not to show my quite obvious jelly legs and torrential sweat I pulled up for a chat. Turns out 39.54 isn't so bad for a fat lad who hasn't been out more than once in five weeks.
Roll on next tuesday I'll show them.....
