Bloody Weather

I am now of the opinion the bbq summer prediction was government propoganda aimed at making us holiday in the UK to boost the economy, I fell for it and have stayed here, I wouldn't mind if they'd asked nicely I would probably have stayed anyway and spent up, as it is I feel conned. I have managed to ride my 'best' bike twice in the last 4 weeks to avoid the deluge, & is it me or is it always windy these days ?

Been good round the Moray Firth this year. Had a few BBQs plenty of beers and wine in the garden and have even managed to cycle regularly (Beer and cycling are not incompatable).

I agree totally, especially the wind. According to Metcheck the next week is actually looking quite good.

The bloody BBC weather forecast seems to have a fundamentally different outlook every time I've looked at it this week !!!

I watched the weeks weather on country file on Sunday and the forecasters opening gambit was " things are looking up and it should be a nicer week"

It has rained solidly now from Monday evening!!!

Managed one dry ride in 2 weeks!!

There's a better chance of them actually getting it right in that way. At least one of their guesses may be accurate!

I'm totally fed up with it. You can't tell what the weathers going to be doing from one hour to the next. If I get up in the morning and the weather is crap I usually get the tube to work but you can bet that by the time I leave the weather will be wonderful clear skys and sunshine. And then if I get up and it clear I take the bike only to cycle home in pouring rain and howling headwinds which to be honest isn't much fun. The result is that the bike has hardly been used over the last few weeks

The best forecasting tool I've come across is 'weather pro' for the iphone. I also use their google gadget from wetter24.de - which only seems to be in German  both provide a simliar daily breakdown of the days weather.
The iphone apps breaks it down into 3 hour windows, rather than 6 hour periods but so far it's been dam good at getting the percentage chance of rain and volume right, even the minutes of sunshine. Plus the wind speed seems a lot more accurate than http://www.xcweather.co.uk/, which at least here in Southport always under estimates the forecast versus the final observed figure.

Well worth the £2.49, it's given me and GF the ability to plan which nights we will ride thoughout the week, rather than take a chance.
    Check the online reviews.

Edit: Sorry this reads like an advert, it's not  I've no interest in the app or company; hey I don't even own an iphone as that's the GFs.

This is the same met office that lectures on climate change telling us what the weather is going to be like in 25 years when they cant even predict next weeks weather accurately.

Only 'good' side to the recent weather is that it justifies my lazyness in not taking my mudguards off this summer.

And if I don't have an Iphone?

I have an Ipod Touch, will this do the job?

Itunes says it works with the Ipod Touch if you have 2.2.1 or later installed.
Of course to get the weather data it will to be connected to a wifi network.

    +1 great app.

I'm permanently looking on Thursday evenings ready for evening league TT. I think I've only had 3 good runs all season due to the wind, tomorrow is looking promising though for the last ride in the league. Crosses fingers, touches wood.

Went out yesterday, very humid. About 13.30 it tried to drizzle and was very overcast. The rain didn't amount to much but i spent the remainder of the ride (90mins) in a "bug soup". At first i couldn't work out what was happening, then i tried to ride with my head down and mouth shut. Not much fun :(

The prediction is always for good weather in two days time! When that day arrives the good weather is another two days away. Like the sign in the pub, Free Beer Tomorrow.

Agreed. 27C yesterday, 28C today. Add on the sun and humidity and that's too hot. :D:D
