Commuter - ditch Bad Boy in favour of Pace RC305?

Hello all - this is my maiden post here. I'm just having a little conundrum...
I commute a 4-mile round trip to work every day, with some mountain biking at weekends and the very occasional road ride. My bikes are a Cannondale Bad Boy 700 and a decked-out Pace RC305 hardtail (XTR, DT forks, Thomson etc).
It strikes me as a little odd that I'm using my least nice bike every day and hardly using my lovely Pace. The main reason for this is fear of theft of the Pace and the flexibility of having both a 700c and mountain bike. But the appeal of haivng just one bike is growing on me (space, simplicity, getting some use out of the Pace).
Should I just commute on my Pace and sell the 'Dale?

Sorta depends on if you've got secure places to store your bike at each end. If you don't, I definitely wouldn't be riding the Pace in.
Also, it's nice to have a "backup" bike to commute on, in case your main one dies.
Also also! It's good to have a hack bike of some description for hopping down to the shops etc. duties.0 -
Have you not heard of n+1 - save the pace for XC - far too nice for every day stuff.
I have 4 bikes, 1 MTB, two road bikes, and a fixed road bike with guards for commuting.
Also worth having a backup as said.0 -

Keep the Dale and make more time to ride the Pace, it doesn't always have to be off road to enjoy riding your favourite/only mountain bike.
I know not of your home life so the above suggestion may not be applicablefly like a mouse, run like a cushion be the small bookcase!0 -
if you have a safe place to leave your pace at work get rid of the cannondale as you sound you dont care for it,the extra time on your pace will make a world of differance in handling,I know when I swap to my weekend bike after being on my work bike all week there is defo a period of reajustment.0

Keep the Pace for weekends. If you ride it on a daily basis the novelty and joy of riding such a nice bike will wear off. If you keep it for weekends only, it'll put a smile on your face every time you go out on it.
Seriously nice bike btw dude. I'be been hankering after a Pace for XC duties for years.pain is temporary, the glory of beating your mates to the top of the hill lasts forever.....................

I think this is a thinly veiled "look at me I ride a Pace RC305" thread 8)road0 -
And why not, they're very nice bikes. If I had one I'd shout about itpain is temporary, the glory of beating your mates to the top of the hill lasts forever.....................

keep the pace for weekends, then get another bike.
I'm in the process of acquiring a lovely old yellow steel orbea that i'm going to re-build...0 -
Um, yes, the Pace is nice - but it's not the most flash bike in the world is it?! It's "only" a hardtail for starters...
I do have a relatively safe swipe-access bike park to secure it at work, but I'd feel more comfortable if I could take it into my office (which I don't have room to do).
I've been riding the Pace to work the last few days and will see how it goes... Thanks for the help!Cotic Soul - Fox 32 RLC forks, XTR go, XT stop, Hope / DT wheels, Thomson / Easton / Hope finishing
