On-One's Slot Dropout.. Any issues using gears?

Hiya all!

I'm really keen on getting an On-One Scandal.. but am a bit concerned with the slotdropout they use.

I will be running it with Avid Ultimates, which I have seen from 'da web', seems to be ok for the exotic caliper positioning. But am concerned about ease of use when running a geared bike and how well it works as an offroad geared bike for racing.

I have seen some pictures of people running a geared setup, but am interested to hear if anyone has had any problems with using it only as a geared bike.

For example..
I presume the key is to have the rear wheel clamped down tight.. but does it still have a tendency to rub the brake pads? (my main race is a beach bike race and sand in the pads can really slow things down unless setup just right)
How fiddly is it taking the wheel off and back on? (I am not too fussed about changing a flat in a race situation, but more about taking the bike in and out of the car when i will need to remove the wheels)
I've never used a chain tug but presume that makes things easier? (i know in brant's instuctions on the website he recommends using one on the non drive side)
Does the rear end act any differently with this kinda slotout?

I use horizontal dropouts on my triathlon bike and have no problems with that but can imagine the setup is a lot different with disc brakes and mtb-ing

i might use it as an SS in the future but probably it will remain a geared bike for a couple of years first.

Thanks for any honest advice you can give!!

btw.. the reason for the interest in the scandal is pretty shallow but worth mentioning;
- i have two PX bikes (stealth and pro carbon) and really respect the company and what they do so would be great to complete the line up (especially as i'll be riding the UK flag over in holland - I am a brit abroad!)
- my pro carbon is in pink and both my three year old daughter and i have fallen in love with the colour! and the scandal now comes in the same pink.
- as mentioned, the main race is a beach bike race (mid Jan) and a 29er with no suspension will kick ass on that course!,.. also it is my bike commuter during the winter and think it will be perfect for that also.

current bike is a stumpie HT.

    no different to any other horizontal set up.

    of cause it will be easier running the hub in the front position to get the same position each time.
