Calling all Cinelli owners

Hi folks,

A quick question from a forum Newbie. I have tried to find existing thread to add this too, but I couldn't find any, so I thought I would start a new one. Hope that's acceptable forum etiquette.

I have just managed to find a really good deal on a Cinelli Man Machine, but I can't seem to find any reviews on it anywhere. Come to mention it I cant really find many reviews on any Cinelli bikes at all. Any reason why?

Does anyone have a Man Machine or a Cinelli? If so what are your thoughts on them. I would love to know. I have heard one or two things about paint work chipping and shoddy decals, but that is it. I did give it a test ride and it felt STIFF, quick, light and responsive, but I am not sure how those qualities stack up on 50-100 mile runs

Also I was thinking of upgrading the wheelset to either Mavic Ksyrium SL or a set of Fulcrum Racing 3's. I have read so many mixed reports on the Mavics, so I am tempted to plump for the Fulcrum's anyone got an opinion either way? I know this subject has been done before, but I just thought I would ask.

Thanks for your time.

Mark

Just bought a Willin frameset after getting a good deal online. Having it built up at the moment with Easton ea50sl wheels and an Athena groupset. The Willin was one of the top 7 bikes in the bike radar bike of the year contest. Not seen any other reviews really though.

Kingtut87, I've just bought a Willin, and I'm awaiting build up and delivery...
Do you have a link to the bike test you mentioned, I couldn't find any info in a search!
When it arrives it should have EA90 SLX wheels, SRAM Force groupo and FSA finishing kit... :D
I just can't wait to receive it...

Its only a short piece but it mentions the main points from the full magazine article. Its the Veloce equiped model they review so any build of the frame with SRAM components would be a lot lighter.

I've just kept the Cinelli finishing kit that comes with the frame on the bike. I really like the bars but the stem and seat post could do with being a bit lighter. Other than that I'm really happy with it. Should be getting the finished bike at the weekend, cant wait :D

Thanks for the link, I had already found it in a Cycling+ mag!
Hope you enjoy your new ride.

Thanks guys. I noticed that you have both gone with Easton Wheelsets. Do you have direct experience of Eastons? I don't know anyone with them so I would be interested to hear your thoughts. So far it has been between the Mavic Ksyrium SL or Fulcrum Racing 3. But I am still open to ideas.

Well the tyres were a total nightmare to get on to my Easton wheels. Took a lot of effort, some chipped tyres levers and one knicked tube, but we got there in the end. They seem pretty quick and light for the price.

Really pleased over all with the bike. It rides really well and I think it looks the dogs....

    Happy riding!

In answer to your question, Mark73, I chose the Eastons based on a recent wheel review.... Simple as...
I hope they'll be ok

All good things hopper1...It will be worth the wait that's for sure. I have read many good things about the Eastons, a good choice methinks.

Out of interest what tyres have you both gone for. I need to get some new ones, but funds will not allow at the moment. I am thinking of going with some Conto GP4000s or Michelin Pro. Still undecided.

I have the Michelin Pro 3 Race tyres on my current bike. So far, they've been terrific, but I've gone for Conti GP4000S for the Willin'. No particular reason, just thought I'd give them a go...
    Only time will tell...

Went for ProRace 3 tyres. A nightmare to get on but seem to have loads of grip and really low rolling resistance. Had them on a previous bike and didn't have any problems with them.
