help with choice of gears

could you help me as i am having a bike built? i have a choice of groupsets. could you tell me what is the advantage? disadvantage?

170 mm 39/53 black;
172.5 39/53 silver;
172.5 42/52 silver?

Crank length depends on your leg length, 170 for shorter legs, 172.5 for average length legs. However you probably would not notice the difference.
Silver / black is down to you.
39/53, general road use plus racing if you like.
42/52, again general road use plus racing but not if you have many hills to climb
You might want to consider a compact 34/50 if you just want to ride for fitness / pleasure / come across many hills
