Hi,

I have recently started mountain biking and i am looking for some routes in and around the plymouth area. I unfortunately dont have a car so would be best if they were in riding distance, although i may be able to scab a lift on some occasions.

Also i recently bought a Kona Fire Mountain and have since upgraded the RS dart 1's to RS Tora Race Air. What are peoples general views of this bike and are there any major problems component wise that i could amend. Thanks in advance.

Tim

The Plym Trail is quite good it will lead you up to Burator reservoir from there you can carry on up to Princetown have done this and its quite a nice ride, I went a different way back from Princetown see here http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=hdvgznbnsvhmbpwi
I have not got the full route recorded on my GPS

here is someone's route from Plymouth to Burator http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=nhtvvhcubwepvhgp

Have a word with the yogi bunch, they're local to the area and are a good bunch to ride with.

Good routes around dartmoor/cann woods but it helps if you know where you're going of course.

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Where abouts in Plymouth are you? (approx).

I can give you directions etc to Cann woods and the Plym Valley Trail if you aren't sure where they are.

  • I have ridden the plym trail a few times and i know where that is. Not sure where the woods are exactly know they are close to plymbridge when you come briefly off the trail. Just not sure where to go from there.
