upgrading my wheelset

hi
i currently run fulcrum racing 5's and really love them. i am looking to upgrade them however, and hand the 5's down to my partner.
I have been looking at the
Fulcrum Racing 1
Campy Shamal Ultra
Reynolds Attack
i ride to work 3 times a week, and do the triathlon and the occasional sportive - and would like a wheel that could fare well in all the above. I also weigh 95k which may be an issue!
not limiting myself to the above, and happy to hear alternatives - looking to spend around about £700.
any advice warmly received! thanks

I have recently bought a pair of Easton EC70 SL Carbons, and they are a fantastic wheelset. Stiff, light, no maximum rider weight limit.0

R1s and Shamal Ultras are both excellent wheels. I've not ridden them but the Attacks seem to have a few more failures which may make you hesitate. Hubs are not the best and carbon braking isn't ideal if you get rained on commuting or changing tubes at the roadside given the carbon rims are a little less robust than alloy.
2010 Fulcrum Racing Zeroes in black are nice and due in the next month or two or if you're of a Campagnolo persuasion, the Neutron Ultras are also a good hardy wheel. Both perform similarly to the Shamal Ultras although Neutrons are less prone to side winds and stiffer IME (shallower rim and narrower spokes). Neutrons are also probably preferable for a 95kg rider. All of these are pretty standard alloy wheels though and though lighter, not hugely different to the R5s.
You're not going to get one wheel that's ideal for both commuting AND triathlons but for Tri and Sportive use at your budget, the Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL or older Premium is a good option. Maybe you could continue to use the R5s to commute if your partner doesn't need them at the same time and have Cosmics for events where their aerodynamic benefits would help.0 -
Sod the partner, keep the 5s for commuting and get the Attacks, or Assaults, for Tris and sportives...0
