does anyone know if shops allow bikes in the sales to be sold via the scheme - and if they dont does anyone know why?

popped into my LBS at the weekend and saw some great bargains but the sales lad told me that bikes in the sale couldnt be sold via the scheme.

Depends on the shop. There's no rule that they have to sell at the RRP

Halfords will sell their bikes at sale prices.

Think its because cycle scheme take 10% of the value of the bike reducing the shops margins. But I may be wrong about that so dont take my word for it.

cyclescheme does indeed charge 10% but if a bike is ruduced by more than 10% why not offer to make up the 10% and you will still get a saving.

eg rrp £1350, sale £1000 you offer £100 and then you will pay approx £700 overall.

Pop along and ask them if they would go for that

ah now i must admit i am not a fan of their stock. Nothing at all wrong with the brands its just a purely personal choice.

Good luck with trying the suggestion
